The Law Office of Benjamin S. Bolas, LLC (the “Organization,” “we,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your information and your right to privacy.  When you visit the Organization website, http://www.bolaslaw.com (the “Website”), we appreciate that you are trusting us with your information and we take your privacy seriously.

In this Privacy Policy, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. 

I.          GENERAL PROVISIONS

This Privacy Policy is applicable to all Website visitors, and it governs our Website and all pages combined within it that are owned or operated by the Organization.  This Privacy Policy does not apply to information we collect by other means (including offline or in accordance with other agreements that you may enter into with the Organization) or from other sources. 

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before you start to use the Website.  By using any part of the Website, you signify that you understand and accept this Privacy Policy.  If there are any terms in this Privacy Policy that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of the Website immediately.  If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please do not hesitate to contact us using the contact information provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.

II.         OVERVIEW ON COLLECTION AND SHARING OF INFORMATION

As described below, information that we may gather falls into two broad categories: (A) Personal Data, and (B) Aggregate Data.

We collect Personal Data that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us, or otherwise contact us through the Website.  The Personal Data that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the information that you may choose to provide when you interact with us using the Website.  The Personal Data we collect may include records and copies of your correspondence with us (including names and email addresses) if you contact us through the Website.

1.         How We Use Your Personal Data

The Website may contain forms that allow you to submit or transmit information to the Organization on or through the Website.  We use the information that you provide about yourself to respond to your inquires.

We may use your email address to send you Website-related notices (including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail).  We may also use your contact information to send you marketing messages.  If you do not want to receive such messages, you may opt out by following the instructions in the message, or by contacting us.  Such requests will be honored within ten (10) business days.  If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address, and our responses.

Additionally, we will use Personal Data that you give to us:

(i)         To present the Website and its contents in a suitable and effective manner for you and for your computer or mobile device;

(ii)        To respond to your requests for information or your questions; and

(iii)       To notify you about changes to the Website at our discretion.

We will use Personal Data that we collect about you:

2.         When We Share and Who Can Access Your Personal Data

We may share your Personal Data for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy with:

(i)         Google Analytics, which assists us in the improvement and optimization of the Website; and

(ii)        Trusted third party companies and individuals (including the Organization’s agents or authorized representatives) with a legitimate need for such information who provide sufficient guarantees in respect of the technical and organizational security measures governing the processing to be carried out and can demonstrate a commitment to compliance with those measures.     

When Personal Data is provided in connection with an inquiry made to the Organization through the Website, we will only use the information provided for purposes of reviewing and responding to the inquiry.

3.         Selling or Disclosing Your Personal Data

We will not sell your Personal Data to third parties for their use without your consent.  We will only disclose Personal Data we collect from you to third parties without your permission to the extent necessary:

(i)         To comply with the law or in response to a civil or criminal subpoena, court order, government request, or other legal process or request from law enforcement personnel;

4.         How Long We Store Your Personal Data

We will store your Personal Data, in a form which permits us to identify you, for no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which the Personal Data is processed.  We may retain and use your Personal Data as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements and rights, or if it is not technically reasonably feasible to remove it.

If you wish to request that we no longer use or store your Personal Data, please contact us.  Consistent with these requirements, we will try to delete your Personal Data within a reasonable period of time following your request.  Please note, however, that we may need to retain and use certain Personal Information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our interests and rights as described above.

5.         Where We Store Your Personal Data

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure.  Although we do our best to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Data transmitted to us through the Website.  Any transmission of Personal Data is at your own risk.  We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures put in place for your protection.

B.         AGGREGATE DATA

“Aggregate Data” is information that does not personally identify you, such as frequency of visits to the Website, page views, referrer addresses, your browser type and version, or your operating system and platform.   We collect certain Aggregate Data that is sent to us automatically by your web browser, and we may use this information (i) to generate aggregate statistics about visitors to the Website, and (ii) to help us develop and improve the Website.

When you visit the Website, we may send one or more “cookies” – small data files – to your computer to uniquely identify your browser and enhance your navigation through the Website.  By using the Website, you agree to our use of cookies as described in this Privacy Policy.

Our Website uses third party cookies from Google Analytics, including Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting, which gives us insight into behavior information relating to visitor age, gender, and interests on an anonymous and aggregate level.  This will help us to understand browsing behavior to give you a better experience whilst visiting our Website.

Cookies are used to analyze your use of our Website.  The information we collect and share with third parties through cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous (it does not include Personal Data which is likely to identify you).  You can access information about Google’s Privacy Policy here (link: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-US).

While we recommend that users enable cookies on their browsers in order to enjoy all the features of our Website, the decision remains in the hands of the individual.  You do not have to accept our cookies and can block them by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse all or some cookies.  You may also delete them after they have been placed on your hard drive.  

2.         Third Party Tracking

Third parties, other than our vendors (such as our website analytics provider), do not have authorization from us to track which websites you visited prior to and after visiting the Website.  That said, we cannot control third party tracking and there may be some third party tracking that occurs without our knowledge or consent.

3.         Sharing, Selling and Trading Aggregate Data Collected Online With Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your Aggregate Data to third parties for marketing purposes.

III.        YOUR RIGHTS

Based on the applicable laws in the jurisdiction where you reside, you may have the right to request access to the Personal Data we collect from you, correct or update that information, or delete it in some circumstances.  To request to review, update, or delete your Personal Data, please contact us.

IV.        PRIVACY OF CHILDREN

We do not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Data from anyone under the age of thirteen (13).  If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child under age of thirteen (13) without verified parental consent, we will delete the information from our records.

V.         LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

The Website may contain links to websites operated by other individuals or organizations.  The Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third party sites, which may have their own privacy policies or no privacy policy at all.  While we try to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, the Organization does not control the content of third party sites and takes no responsibility for their content, nor should it be implied that the Organization endorses or otherwise recommends such sites or the products or services offered.  We encourage you to review the privacy policies and terms of use of any third party sites or services before providing any of them with any of your Personal Data.

VI.        CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

The Organization reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time at its sole discretion by posting revisions on the Website.  Such revisions will be effective immediately upon posting them to the Website.  Your use of the Website after such changes have been posted shall constitute your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
